This photo expositions features colourful houses, delirious buildings, mosaic decorations and apartments which resemble forts more than anything else.  Come and enjoy a photographic exhibition and documentary result of urban and anthropological research on the effect of migrant remittances as represented by buildings and homes of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. The architecture and development of these properties result from the social and economic transformations as a result of  Central American migration to the United States and consequently entries of large sums of money into these countries. Economic and ideological remittances alter the “traditional life” of these communities in many ways and transforms the architectural, cultural, social and economic landscape as well as the development of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The exposition is taking place at Plaza de la Cibeles, 2 of Casa de América opne from Mondays to Saturdays from 10am till 8pm and on Sundays from 10am till 3pm. The exposition will be inagurated on the 27th of Octiber till the 5th of November.

With only 6 menu items, this small establishment in Lavapiés, run by husband & wife, are quick in serving their famous croquettes and ham sandwiches (bocadillo de jamon in Spanish), to a bustling crowd. Big in portions but small in price, Melo’s is a quick dine for those with low cholesterol. Located on c/ Ave María, 44. Open Tuesday-Saturday from 8pm-2am.
