Even though Ibiza’s most known facet is it’s nightlife and partying, the island has a great number of coves and beaches of great beauty that we can visit. If we go on a trip to the island, our options will be limitless but our days won’t, so here you can check out some of the coves that are considered the best in Ibiza.

La Cala Salada (The Salty Cove)

cala-salada-ibiza-aparcagoThis cove, considered by many as one of the best and most visited in Ibiza, is known to be completely surrounded by green areas and forests, with little to no buildings on sight. It has a free parking lot nearby, in which we can leave our vehicle to go down to the beach.

Due to its beauty, however, the Cala Salada is usually full of tourists, so if we are looking for a quiet and tranquil place to stay, maybe we can find it by walking 200 meters north of the cove, where we can find its neighbour, the Cala Saladeta (Little Salty Cove), which is usually a lot more quiet and peaceful.

Accessible by car as well as ferry, that we can take in San Antonio, this cove is perfect for families with kids, because the quality of the sand and the waters have people referring to this beach as a natural pool. Plus, we can find numerous restaurants and services in the area that we can enjoy.

La Cala d’Hort (The Orchard Cove)

Here we can find the boulders of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell, two giant rocks near the shore, famous for offering a pretty view of the sunset, as well as for being the refuge of pirates and corsairs in the past.Being so far from San José, reaching this cove is only possible by car, following the signs that we will find exiting the town.

The cove has pretty thick sand and we won’t find many shadowy places to seek refuge from the sun, but we can find two restaurants in the beach.

La Cala Conta (The Count Cove)

Cala Conta Best Ibiza CovesAlso called Cala Comte, this cove is part of what is called the Playas de Conta (The Count’s Beaches), and is one of the most known coves in Ibiza. Located in the west of San Antonio, this cove offers one of the prettiest sunsets in the island, as well a being able to enjoy of a peaceful afternoon in one of the many chiringuitos (beach bar) that we can find, where we can listen to live music some afternoons. Having crystalline and specially clean waters, this cove is usually full in summer, but its surroundings, full of beauty, make the visit worthwhile just with the views.
