Cheap Original Version Films Six Days a Week
Inaugurated in 1912, this historical 90-year-old Cine Doré hosts the Filmoteca Española, a government funded cinema to bring great movies new and old to Madrid. This classic cinema typically offers four movies per night from various directors, genres and eras. All are shown in their original version with Spanish subtitles. The building has three screening rooms: Sala 1 (reconstruction of the primitive Doré Hall), Sala 2 (most modern design) and Sala 3 (outdoor room, sessions only from July to mid-September). Facilities include a café and a bookshop specializing in film subjects.
Location: Calle de la Magdalena, 10 (metro Antón Martín).
Prices: Each film costs 2.50€ and a ten-film pass (abono) is just 20€. For students, the prices are 2€ or 15€ for the 10 ticket pass.
Hours: Tuesday – Sunday (except holidays). Four daily sessions – The first session begins at 5:30pm in winter and 6pm in summer. The last session usually starts around 10pm. Box office is opened from 4pm to 15 minutes after the start of the last session. Maximum three tickets per person and per session. No tickets are reserved and cannot make changes once the session started. Presale tickets for showings the next day is available from 9pm until the close of the box office. Café is opened 5pm-12:30am and the Bookshop from 5pm-10pm.
