Sagasta 28 an affordable and classy bistro (near Alonso Martinez)

We recently visited Sagasta 28 Bistró & Gourmet near metro Alonso Martinez. We especially liked its location (literally just outside the metro exit) in the same street name as of the  establishment. I went with a photographer friend (@madriddelicacies in Instagram) to try the new menu since the arrival of the new chef Javier Guigou (a student of Paco Roncero).Sagasta Bistro & Gourmet is known for serving the best regional cuisine and product of the capital. The interior is chic and small with big windows. Therefore, you see lots of people passing by while discreetly eating is a dicrete ambience. In fact, most of the people (and regulars) are office workers from around the classy Chamberi area. We can confidently say that Sagasta 28 Bistró is practical and sophisticated thanks to its brilliant culinary offer. For example for appetizers  the cheese accompanied by whole-wheat wheat, is exclusive to Sagasta 28 Bistró & Gourmet through a farmer and cheese producer in Toledo.  In fact they pride themselves with Spanish products (Original Denomination) in particular, the region of Madrid. The idea and concept of the restaurant is to travel along the Spanish geography without leaving the heart of Madrid.

Our conclusion and recommendations

We love the fact that the bistro surprises you with a different dish of the day, from Monday to Friday. Different tapas, delicious homemade pastries, gourmet products, good wines and gin & tonics or cocktails with a modern and cozy atmosphere. As a result, it is an ideal place to for an afterwork drink, lunch with colleagues or a romantic dinner. Above all we find them quite modern and connected because they have active social media accounts plus their own free application. You can download the app here.

As I mentioned before, restaurant is small but cozy and shines as a result of its efficient and professional service. We highly recommend the vegetable as well as meat dishes. For lunch we found the portions adequate and the cooking style gourmet. They offer vegetarian or celiac options too!

Side note: They tend to make contests for facebook, so with a little luck they will have free dinners
