Saturday, October 6 @ 8:30pm – “Raga, Peace, Harmony. A Tribute to Ghandi” is a classic musical recital with a sitar, a traditional string instrument from the 7th century of Northern India, performed by master Roychowdhuri, accompanied by Sanjib Pal on the table (typical percussion instrument), interpreting ragas, a melodic composition used in Indian classical music, which is based on the use of five or more notes which creates a melody. In the Indian musical tradition, ragas are associated with different moments of everyday, holidays, seasons or mythological stories. This recital is to be a tribute concert for global tolerance, peace and promulgated lifelong harmony created by Gandhi.
