On the 4th and 5th of June, Madrid celebrates the IV Social Economy and Solidarity Fair in Matadero, the only Fair in Madrid which brings together organizations and cooperatives working in the framework of the Social and Solidarity Economy. An event organized by the Network Economy Alternative and Solidarity (REAS) and the Social Market Madrid which gathers about 125 exhibiting companies, attracting over 10,000 visitors and presents a full program of activities throughout the weekend in the Matadero Madrid.
The IV Fair of Social Economy and Solidarity in Matadero offers the neighbors of Madrid all kinds of alternatives consumption and sustainable fashion, natural cosmetics, furniture, decoration, kitchenware and drugstore, ethical finance, insurance solidarity, education and training, renewable energy, construction and eco-efficiency, cleaning and gardening, sustainable transport, agro-ecological and proximity healthy food, entities that design and graphics with free software or media such as Tide, Diagonal and Salmon Undertow.
In addition, the Fair is a meeting place to learn and share experiences through workshops, lectures and children’s activities. Among the activities this year, there will be a wide variety of workshops on responsible consumption, collaborative practices, care, recycling and self-management, cultural activities for all public and dedicated to learn about real cases on models of alternative economic spaces and debate .
