The German artist Rosemarie Trockel has gained international popularity for a multifaceted practice encompassing painting, sculpture, video, and drawing. Issues including a concern with natural history, the creative expression of diverse species, and the representation and role of women in contemporary culture fuel her work.

A Cosmos—a world shaped by Trockel’s ideas and affinities—is presented in this exhibit, collaborated by the German Embassy & Goethe Institut. Juxtaposing her work with objects that range across eras and cultures, borrowed from the fields of art history, botany, craft, and outsider art, this exceptional ensemble illuminates Trockel’s highly influential practice of the past thirty years.

Now showing at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía on the 3rd floor of the Edificio Sabatini, located on Calle de Santa Isabel, 52. Metro: Atocha.
