Flavia Italian gastronomy in Madrid

Flavia Italian gastronomy in Madrid

Last week, we had the pleasure of trying Italian gastronomy in Madrid. We had lunch at the Italian restaurant Flavia, a few metres from the National Library of Spain. Flavia, was inaugurated less than 2 years ago and its elegant gastronomy already making waves. It has an average of a 4 star rating among the premium opinion and reservation portals, namely Google, TripAdvisor and El Tenedor

The restaurant location is great.Just a few metres from Metro Colon or metro Retiro, its open in August. Distributed among 3 floors, restaurant patrons have different ambiences especially in the evenings. The street-level dining room is ideal for daily specials or people like us, with strollers. Then the cocktail area, located a few steps away, has high chairs as well as low dining tables. The lower floor, offers a more discrete and intimate environment and is available on demand. Kudos for their Italian themed decoration which exudes style and taste. The ambience and environment is complemented seamlessly by the professional yet discrete waiters.

As mentioned above Flavia breathes Italian gastronomy and their wood-fired pizzas , fresh pasta and Italian desserts are a testament. For appetizers we shared Mortadella di Bologna (Mortadella , white truffle oil and black pepper.) with fresh Italian bread. Then for starters we indulged in Vongole alla marina(Clams with white wine sauce and garlic) and Parmigiana di melanzane(Fine slices of eggplant with tomato sauce , mozzarella and Parmesan). We admit that at this stage we felt we had nearly had enough for lunch…so we asked for a Quattro formaggi (Tomato , mozzarella , fontina , gorgonzola , parmesan). For dessert we concluded with a tiramisu in true Italian style.

Why visit Flavia

We recommend Flavia for lunches or dinner. Additionally, we believe its an awesome venue for a date. Its classy, elegant and graciously decorated. In fact, on the Saturday afternoon, we saw many couples in attendance. Be sure to call ahead of time as the restaurant is normally very busy and is normally reserved. If you want to discover more about the restaurant or to make a reservation check out the info below:
