Film still from Sigo Siendo

Free Peruvian Concert in Casa de América

Sila Recital Illanes, Consuelo Jeri and Sara Van. Three of the artists participating in the documentary Sigo Siendoabout the musical heritage of Peru which will be shown in Casa de América until December 14th. Sigo Siendo (Kachkaniraqmi) is a film about characters that are part of a country. A film that travels through the worlds of Peru through the lives of its musicians, but not a strictly musical film. It is a film apparently very distant personal stories, stories that are sought in a country that also tries to meet and draw your identity. Travel through the unknown and hidden Peru, through the three major areas that comprise it: the Andes, the Amazon, and the city of Lima, where they continue singing in their native tongue, remaining a unique way of playing the guitar, violin, harp and drawer, telling stories, communicating who we are.

Performers:
- Sila Illanes, voice.
- Consuelo Jeri, voice.
- Sara Van, voice.
- Renzo Romero, acoustic guitar.
- Cesar Guardia, Andean guitar.
- Alfredo Segovia, Peruvian cajon and percussion.

When: Friday November 29 @ 8pm.
