This Friday, we feature Greg Gobel‘s new recording, ‘The Waiting’, featuring Ana Lopez.  The lo-fi 6-song EP reveals spiritual, country, psychedelia and folk-influenced songs about love, death and hope. The songs on ‘The Waiting’ are: Answer, A Spot Well Defined, To Pieces, Song, Cocoon and Wipe Away. Most of this album was recorded on one day in August 2009. It was then mixed and mastered in between July and August 2012, with a few extra tracks getting recorded. Although playing several of these songs around the local juke joints of Madrid over the past years, these tracks were only completed this summer during the recording of Greg’s new  full-length album. This decision to dust these songs off and let them surface in their skeletal form, capturing a moment in time from three years earlier makes for an imperfect album for imperfect times.

You can download ‘The Waiting’ for free from Greg’s bandcamp site: greggobel.bandcamp.comThe download includes the songs, lyrics and some extra photos.
